About the McLaren 12C

McLaren Automotives Ltd was founded in 1989 from McLaren Racing and is therefore a fairly young automotive company.

As McLaren – apart from individual collaborations such as the F1 GTR with BMW or the SLR with Mercedes – only built motorsport vehicles for a number of years, the model portfolio is still manageable and, above all, young.

It all began in 2011 with the McLaren 12C, which also forms the technical basis for all subsequent vehicles and shares not only the unique carbon fibre monocoque but also its famous 3.8-litre biturbo V8. This offspring, the MP4-12C, was the first complete mid-engine in-house development with the concentrated expertise of the racing car manufacturer and is in no way inferior to its new brothers 570S or 650S! In addition to the absolutely unique design, only the highest quality components are used in the carbon chassis of the 12C. It has never been so worthwhile to drive or hire a McLaren as it is today…
